I taught elementary school for seven years in the Diocese of Arlington (Catholic schools) before returning to school to obtain my license to teach ESOL in Virginia.  Having lived in Chile and Germany, I understand how difficult it can be to learn in a language other than one's native language.  However, I feel strongly that bringing cultural diversity into the classroom can make learning fun and rewarding for all students. I have also visited Korea, France, Austria and Argentina and love learning about the cultures of other people.   I am excited about joining the Knights at Westridge Elementary School and look forward to meeting my new students and their families.  We are a team and I believe that we have to work together for our students to succeed.
I am married and have two beautiful daughters.  My husband and I met after college while we were both in the Army at Ft. Meade in Maryland and have loved traveling the world together.  We have lived in Virginia for over 12 years.  My hobbies include walking, reading, listening to country music and cheering for the New York Giants.
